Finally Some Stamping Time

Good Morning!!
I finally found some time to stamp, WOOHOO!! I have been so busy taking care of hubby and my daughter and cleaning and such that I have been too exhausted to do anything at the end of the day. Today I woke up early and could not go back to bed so I stamped. Hubby and daughter are still sleeping, HA!!
My card today features Tilda on Ornament. Isn't she just so cute? She was fun to color but then again aren't all Maggies? I colored her in using copic markers, cut her out with a nesties and sponged her with Cherry Cobbler Ink around the edges. The card base is Cherry Cobbler card stock by Stampin Up, followed by a layer of DP from Paper Pizazz that I bought from Joann's. I used some lace ribbon and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Spent the day doing laundry yesterday and will do the same today, ugh!! Doing bedding and such too. We got Sarah new sheets and comforter etc. so they needed to be washed. We live in an apartment and only have one washer available to us at a time. I think today I will go to the laundromat to get it all done at once. I want to stamp!! Remember, I have blog candy available here. Stop by and take a look. Oh, for those of you keeping track...it did snow here, YUCK!!! You all now how much I just love snow, NOT!! Hope you all have a blessed Sunday!! Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!
Happy Stamping,
Kim

Tilda with Christmas Ribbon

Good Morning!!
I managed to find some time to stamp a card. Looks like in the evening I can do a bit of stamping, I hope anyway. My hubby seems to settle in in the evening so I have more time for ME!! Of course some of that time is with my daughter too.
Istarted my card by using a Crumb cake base by Stampin Up. I then added a layer of DP from DCWV. I colored my image with Copic Markers and cut it out with nesties and then cut out another oval with my nesties in Cherry Cobbler by Stampin Up. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the sentiment is from Stampin Up stamped on a piece of crumb cake card stock, and the pearls are from my stash.
So, anyone have plans for Thanksgiving?? We are staying home and having a small dinner just the three of us and will celebrate later with my Mom. Anyone have snow? We are supposed to start getting snow tomorrow and it is supposed to be a pretty good blast of it, yuck!! Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!
Happy Stamping,
Kim

Whew, what a week it's been!!

Good Evening!!
Whew!! It's been a really hectic week.
Both my daughter and my husband ended up in the hospital on the same day, Thursday. As you can imagine, I have had no time for stamping. UGH!!! My daughter is still in the hospital but will be coming home tomorrow. My husband came home Sunday. Scott, my hubby, broke his leg in two places. Had to have surgery to put a rod in his leg and will be out of work for at least 12 weeks. They say it will be 9-12 months before he is completely back to normal range again, yikes!! I am playing nurse now at home and am very busy. Didn't realize how tiring it can be either. I give those nurses in the hospital a lot of credit. Took us 2 hours to get him washed up today, omg!! Well you all didn't come here to listen to me babble and carry on.
For my card today, I really kept it simple. I had just a bit of time to stamp. Have to get in as much as I can during that time. I'm making my Christmas cards that need to be sent out. Here is one of them that will go out. I started with a Night of Navy base from Stampin Up, added a layer of Cherry Cobbler card stock also by Stampin Up, then added a layer of DP from DCWV. I punched out the ornaments from the Tags Till Christmas Set from Stampin Up which I stamped in Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler ink. The Merry Christmas Ornament is stamped from the Holiday Best set from Stampin Up. I added silver cord to the ornaments (hard to see in the picture) and some brads in the corners.
Are any of you getting snow?? I know my brother is in DuVall, WA outside of Seattle. Supposed to turn to ice. That more than likely is headed our way. They are calling for snow on Thanksgiving day so we'll see. Keep checking my blog, I'm getting close to 5000 hits and when I do I will have blog candy. Well, hope you all are having a great week. Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!
Happy Stamping,
Kim

Shopping Spree

Good Morning!!
For my card I tried something new. The ribbon treatment is totally new for me. I had seen it done on so many cards and had always wanted to give it a try. So I did!! I think it came out ok for my first attempt. My card uses a Stampavie Penny Johnson Stamp, isn't it adorable. She's all loaded up with holiday goodies. I colored her with Copic Markers--sorry I did not keep track of the colors used. I cut her out with nesties and popped her up on a nesties oval made from Real Red card stock from Stampin Up. I then added a layer of DP from DCWV and my base is from Stampin up. I just realized as I was typing this that I have written the instructions in reverse, lol. I started of course with the base, then the DP and so on. I'm looking at the card and giving you details but have to remember to start from the base up, HA!!
Yesterday was not completely a loss. I thought I would spend most of the day in bed but I actually forced myself to stay up and colored some images and got a swap all taken care of etc. I have been asked to make some cards for the Ronald McDonald House her in the Buffalo area. They got a hold of some of my cards somehow and my label was on the back with my address and phone number and they called me to ask if I would be able to donate to them. Cards that is. I accepted, now just need to make up a bunch. Difficult to do at this time of the year. I also was asked by someone to make some Holiday cards for her. I don't know how many or anything at this point but I told her we would talk about it. So, I need to stamp!! I have a BIG order coming in from Stampin Up soon and that has some Christmas stuff in it, so can't wait to play! Hope you all have a great day!! Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!
Happy Stamping,
Kim

Tilda Picks A Christmas Tree

Good Morning!!
Happy Wednessday!! I figured I better post this early because I will more than likely be in bed most of the day. My back is giving me problems again, UGH!! Went to the doctors yesterday and they changed my medications around, I'm not so sure I like it but we'll see how it goes. On the plus side my stamping area is done, phew!! I found tons of stuff I didn't remember having. It was like going shopping in my own stamping area, lol.
For my card today, I have another invitation size card. This one has a bit more emellishments to it though. I like how this turned out. I started with a Cherry Cobbler base from Stampin Up, added a DP layer from DCWV and then my image that was colored in Copic Markers, cut out and popped up. I wrapped a ribbon from Michael's around the DP. For the embellishments, I used some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and some pearls from my stash. I used a new to me item on the fur of Tilda's coat called Snow Marker. This is like liquid applique but it is a marker. I must warn you, if you use this it comes out really fast. The marker is made by Marvy Uchida.
I have TONS of emails and posts to get through. So, if I haven't commented on your blog recently, I will I'm just a bit behind. Thank you so much to all of you for the comments left here on my blog, I love hearing from you. (good or bad) Feel free to leave constructive criticism, lol. I know I can use some improvements. Speaking of comments....I am close to getting my 5000th blog hit. I will be offering some CANDY when that happens so stay tuned. Hope you all have a great day!! Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!
Happy Stamping,
Kim

A Tangled Mess

Good Morning!!
What family doesn't go through untangling the Christams lights just like our Edwin is here? It's a family tradition!! I saw this Edwin and just had to have him. How cute is he!?!?! He is so fun to color too. Again, I wanted to keep this card simple for mailing purposes. Here are the details: I started with a Real Red base from Stampin Up. Added a layer of DP from DCWV and wrapped a Happy Holiday Ribbon from Michael's or Joann's, not sure which, around the DP. I colored my image with Copic Markers and cut him out with Nesties. Then I added gems from my stash to the corners. The gems were adhered with my new toy--a cordless glue gun. I love it!! I know not a big deal but for me it is!! Now I can really get my embellies to stick. They are not coming off and that is so important!!
Managed to get my stamping area cleaned up and organized yesterday. Now I don't know where anything is, lol. For the most part I do but there are little odds and ends that I don't remember where exactly I put them without having to search for them. When I'm stamping, I don't want to be hunting around for stuff. I'll figure it out. Still have one little corner to get to today. I'm hoping to find Christmas cards that have been made. That would be nice. I will be ahead of the game if I can find those.
Thanks for stopping by!! Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!
Happy Stamping,
Kim

Back After A Brief Break

Good Morning!!
I'm finally back after a short break and it feels good to be back!! Just had too many things going on in general and believe it or not stamping took a back seat to it all. One of the positive things for our family is my Mom (Hi Mom!!) bought us our Christmas present early and bought us the Xbox 360 Kinect. Let me tell you this game system is AWESOME!!! No controls to use, everything is all by sensor. And let me tell you, you really get a work out with this thing too. You're jumping and running in place, waving your arms around, etc. and it really gets the blood pumping. We were all sore the next day, lol. Fun to use and easy to use.
On to my card, I have to really start making my Christmas cards. I really can't afford to send out the square cards to EVERYONE so I am making a lot of the 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 sizes. Here is one of them. Not a lot of embellies either. I think he is still cute though. Edwin with Package was colored using Copic Markers. I cut him out with an oval Nesties. The card base is Ballet Blue from Stampin Up. I then added a DP layer from DCWV, added the image, then the sentiment which is actually cut out from DP from DCWV. I added some sticky dots to the corners and that was it.
Today I am going to organize a bit of my stamping stuff, we'll see how much I get done. Then I hope to be able to stamp some more. I received a bunch of Maggie's in the mail and I can't wait to use them. I also got quite a few flowers and other accessories so I am all set to go. I really need to get working on my Christmas projects too. I work well under pressure but I really wish I didn't have too. Hope you all have a great day!! Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!
Happy Stamping,
Kim

Pink and Yellow Challenge Card

Good Morning!!
Well, I took the plunge!! I finally did a challenge card!! I used the Magnolia-licious challenge to use Pink and Yellow. I'm not really sure I like the colors together but they are kind of growing on me so to speak. I always have a tough time with pinks and this is my first time really using yellows. What do you think??
For my card, I started with a Barely Banana base from Stampin Up, added a layer of DP from The Paper Studio, colored in Tilda with my Copic Markers, cut her out and popped her up. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, aren't they yummy?? The sentiment is a dollar find at Michael's and the dots are from Hobby Lobby. This is Tilda wants a Hug from the 2010 Christmas Collection. She is just too cute!!
Now I just need to figure out how to link this all together and I'll be fine, lol. It took me forever to get my blinkie for the blog to actually blink. Thank Heavens Rene from our Magnolia group asked how to do it because I probably never would have gotten it right, so thanks Rene!! And thanks Candy for the instructions, they were easy as pie. My friend wants me to help her set up her blog too, lol, that ought to be a riot!! I really am not that good with computers, though I am learning. Hope you all have a great day!! Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep smiling!!

Kim

Hannah's Letter

Good Evening!!
I have been making some Christmas cards. This is one of the little images I received from Michellescrap.com. So cute and fun to work with. The name of it is Hannah's Letter and is by Pixie Cottage. I colored it in with Copic Markers (sorry I didn't keep track of the colors). I added some Liquid applique to the snow and some stickles to her hat, I sponged the edges with Versamark Wheat, and Spritzed the whole thing with some glimmer mist. The flower is from Magnolia-licious and the gems in the corner are from my stash. The Polka Dot paper is Graphic 45 and the green striped DP is from DCWV.
So happy that my Magnolia-licious 2010 Christamas preorder came in today. I received some other stuff today too. It was like Christmas at my house, lol. I have lots to play with. Just in time for the holidays too. Word is the Magnolia Magazine is shipping tomorrow too. YIPPEE!! I'm so happy!! Hope you all have a wonderful evening. Keep safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!

I'm back

Good Morning!!

So, I didn't post yesterday, YIKES!! It was a very busy day for me and then my husband and I actually had a date night. That's a shock!! We went to see the Buffalo Sabres (hockey) play. They lost but we had a good time anyway.

I have another Tilda for you today but I need your help with her name again. I get these Tilda's but no one knows her name where I purchase them. I guess I should buy from Diane at the Magnolia store. Would save me from having to ask you all the time and from trying to hunt it down. Anyway, if you know her name could you please leave me a comment. I would truly appreciate it. For my card, I started with a white card stock base, added some DCWV DP wrapped some lace ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts around the DP. I then cut out a Perfect Plum Scalloped Oval by Stampin Up with my Nesties and layered my image that I cut out with an oval Nesties. For my embellishments, I used flowers from WOC and Pearls from my stash. Tilda was colored with Copic Markers and Prismacolor Pencils and gamisol.

Well, for those of you keeping track, it did snow last night here. Nothing that stuck to the ground or to the cars or anything but it was a mix of rain and snow. Baby, It's cold outside!! Today we are going out to lunch with my cousins. He is in the military and is moving on to his next assignment. He was in Rhode Island and I think he is going to Oklahoma now. They just had a new baby and are excited for us to see him. They also have a toddler. Can't wait to see them all. Last time I saw them was at Thanksgiving last year. So this will be nice but too short. They are only here for a few hours before heading south to my Grandma's house in Olean, NY. Hope you all have a great Satuday!! Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!

Kim

Penny Black Santa Claus

Good Evening!!
I so love this Penny Black Santa Claus image!! When I saw it at Oozak.com I just had to get it. It is the perfect Santa. So easy to color too. I hope I have done it justice. I do like how this card came out.
I started with a Cherry Cobbler base by Stampin Up, added a River Rock base also by Stampin Up, then added a layer of DP by DCWV (you'll see me using that a lot this holiday) then I popped up the colored image and added the Merry Christams Sentiment. I twisted some ribbon around the card from Joann's and added some buttons from my stash.
We are supposed to get snow tonight!! YUCK!!! I'm sure nothing will stick to the ground yet but still. You all know how I feel about snow. Been raining all day today and it is cold. Today was laundry day, got most of it finished, have two loads left. Maybe three, we'll see. I can only do laundry up until 9pm because I live in an apartment complex. The laundry facility is only open from 9am-9pm. That's not too bad. Gives the basement tenants a break in the morning first thing and then again at night. There are only six of us so it doesn't get too busy. Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!
Happy Stamping.

A New Technique For Me

Good Evening!!
I went to my Stampin Up class today taught by my friend Donna. Donna teaches us a new technique or more than one technique in each class. This class she taught us how to make a Diorama Card. I was actually surprised at how easy it was to put together, of course Donna had everything cut out and pre-scored for us to save on time. To make this card we took 3 pieces of paper all 3 1/4 " wide, then 2 of the pieces were 8 " long scored at 2" in at each end, and 1 piece was 6" long scored at 1" in at each end. Then for the sun you need a 3/4" circle and a scrap piece of blue for the water. The palm trees and other decorations are all Stampin Up and were in the Summer mini, I believe, so they have been retired. You could use anything in this card. To cut the opening take the large tag punch on the larger piece of paper and go all the way in from the bottom and a bit in on the side and punch, move over and punch again. Turn it upside down and go all the way in from the bottom again and in from the side so that you line up with what has already been punched and punch, move over and punch again. Do this all over on the smaller piece of paper. I hope this all makes sense. Tape the trees to the backside of the small paper so that you can see through the opening. Then fold at the score lines and adhere the small piece to the big piece that has the water and the sun. Then tape the folded, punched out larger piece to the outside of all of it and decorate. If you have any questions about this let me know. I believe that splitcoaststampers probably has a tutorial on it, they have about everything.
Good Job Donna!! I was really impressed. Oh and by the way, the card folds down to fit into the little envelopes that Stampin Up sells. How neat is that. The picture doesn't really do it justice either. If you hold it up to the light the right way it looks like the sun is shining in there. Really awesome!! Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!
Happy Stamping,
Kim

Another Christmas Card

Good Evening!!
This is late for me, I know, my daughter had the day of school and we had a day to ourselves sorta. We went for lunch then shopping for a bit then went to her dentist appointment. All in all a good day. We actually found some clothing that fit her right and that's a plus. You know teens!! She is getting ready to go out in the job market though and wants to look nice. Go Figure!! I couldn't be more thrilled!!
For my card today I need some help, I used a Tilda that I am not familiar with, got it from my LSS and they did not have the name of it. If any of you know the name of it could you leave me a comment telling me the name of her, I would be very grateful!! This card did not photograph really well, looks 100% better in real life. I also lost a snowflake in the corner too. :( Too start I used a white cardstock base, added a layer of DP from DCWV Christmas Stack, Cut out Tilda with a nesties and colored her with Copic Markers. I added stickles all over to give it extra bling. I then punched out some Martha Stewart Snowflakes and added stickers to the center from Jolee's and then added some metal dots from my stash to the corners.
It was a beautiful day here. Nice and sunny but chilly. I'll take it!! We could use more sunny days like this!! Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!

Tilda with Present

Good Morning!!
Someone asked if we had snow yet--not yet but the forecast is calling for it this week so we'll see. It won't be anything significant, nothing that will stick to the ground. At least that is what they are calling for. You never know around here. It's not unusal for us to get snow on Halloween, but this year we were saved.
My card was a fairly simple card. I started with a base of Stampin Up Cherry Cobbler, then added a layer of River Rock that I sewed a piece of DP from DCWV. Popped the Tilda image that I colored in Copic Markers (sorry I didn't write the colors down) and added a Red Riding Hood Ribbon also from Stampin Up. I added some stickles to Tilda's fur and the bow on the present to give it a little bling.
The kids have no school today and tomorrow, lucky them. This month they have more days off school then they are in school it seems. Ahh to be a kid again!! Keep Safe, Keep Warm, Keep Smiling!!
Happy Stamping,
Kim
